There are many different ways to trim hedgehogs nails, shy hedgehogs are difficult I do agree. My hedgehog is extremely shy with strangers, but I thought they have experience with this type of exotic. I was advised of the experience this veterinary had with hedgehog's. It looked like atleast 4 of my piggies nails were not cut, but atleast her nails were still intact and not bleeding, as I will explain further in this review. It may have been a bad idea on my part to bring my hedgehog and one of my guiena pigs in for nail trimming. I really like the doctors very knowledgeable. Lesson learned, make sure staff member is qualified to trim pets nails, and also ask to be present during nail trimming. But needless to say, I went ahead and brought my hedgehog anyway. After remembering this experience, I became sick to my stomach and second thought my appointment. They did apologise and we scheduled an appointment with one of the doctors to check his paw. During my guiena pigs nail trimming, we were not in the room for, a staff member pulled one of his nails out and he screamed, we brought him home and his nail was gone and it was swelled and bloody. I didnt find that amusing, he is our pet and not a toy. The staff member thought it was funny to hold my pet under his front arms and dance him. Prior to my visit, my spouse reminded me of an experience we had with one of our guiena pigs that we brought in for a nail trim. She began to school me actually, my step mother, on proper hedgehog care, really I thought? Harmony should be schooled on having staff members with qualifications on animal care. Then the staff member directed a conversation with my step mother and not to me, the owner. Im very upset with Harmony because they gave me the impression they have experience with hedgehog's and for charging full price on a service they did not provide and for returning my hedgehog wet, coughing and covered with tea bag leaves. I had to throw out her bedding and clean off the tea and wrapped her in a towel to dry. The staff member said hedgehog's like mint tea, not mine. I was upset at this before I left, but I didnt make a big deal about it. The staff had told me she did this, without asking my permission. I picked her up and she was soaked and covered with tea leaves from a tea bag the staff put in her bedding. I didnt open my hedgehogs travel bag until I got home. I was charged full price because of the length of time this took, maybe 15 minutes. The staff member was able to trim her front paws, but not the rear. A staff member used the water in a sink technique, which is fine, but not in February. I am very knowledgeable about hedgehogs, the reason I brought her in for her nails is because my vision isnt what it used to be. There is no need to rock it just to show that you can.I really like the doctors very knowledgeable. In your view, we are all in the same boat, and we need this boat to get where we are going. When others start to argue about their pet theory or concept, you steer clear of the debate, preferring to talk about practical, down-to-earth matters on which you can all agree. When others strike out in a direction, you will, in the service of harmony, willingly modify your own objectives to merge with theirs (as long as their basic values do not clash with yours). When others are sounding off about their goals, their claims, and their fervently held opinions, you hold your peace. Wouldn't we all be more productive if we kept our opinions in check and instead looked for consensus and support? You believe we would, and you live by that belief. You can't quite believe how much time is wasted by people trying to impose their views on others. In fact, harmony is one of your guiding values. You try to steer them away from confrontation and toward harmony. When you know that the people around you hold differing views, you try to find the common ground. In your view, there is little to be gained from conflict and friction, so you seek to hold these to a minimum.
